Commendation from State Representative

The new City Garden Café at the Mansfield Municipal Building, 30 N. Diamond St., has received a special commendation from the Ohio House. State Rep. Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) presented the commendation to café employees during a brief ceremony March 14. The measure congratulates the café on its grand opening and notes “this new café is a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the eatery itself but also on its owner, on its staff, and on the entire community.” Operated by Richland Newhope Industries, Inc. (RNI) in partnership with the city of Mansfield, the City Garden Café opened in late January. The café provides employees with disabilities the opportunity to receive on-the-job experience in a food service setting. It’s open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and employs 12 people, including a full-time manager. The café also operates a kiosk, serving a limited menu, near the courtrooms on the second floor of the municipal building.
